Though Horatio may not technically be William's captain any longer, he's still his captain in every way that matters. William loves him truly as a friend, looks up to him and respects him hugely. William only wants Horatio to be happy and well, and will do whatever necessary to make that happen, God help him. While the necessities of command occasionally make their relationship awkward, William strives to make it work, hoping the burden never falls upon Horatio's shoulders.
