I had a really good drive this afternoon. In the white pickup that is. For the first time since winter, it was warm enough to roll the windows down. Surprisingly, the pickup is a ton of fun to drive. And people on Long Island definitely look at you weird when you roll up in a white pickup with either the new Norah Jones CD or Cold Roses blasting from the window, with surf stickers all over.

But "yarn haul" takes on a new meaning in a pickup.

In other news, plans seem to have changed for Kyle and I. We are no longer moving into the basement. We are moving into "John's room." Now, who the hell is John, you ask. Well, John is John Malkovich. Yes. You heard me.

John Malkovich.

If you've seen the movie "Being John Malkovich", you know about the little door that leads directly to John Malkovich's brain. There is such a door at my parents home. And Kyle and I get to try and live on the other side. With two cats. Let's just say we will be a cozy little family for some time. But this way, we have more privacy, and Dude and Pea have a window to hang out in. Things seem to be looking up. And as of tomorrow, Kyle and I give ourselves $1,550 a month instead of Ron.

Listening to the new Norah Jones CD today, I heard this song. I guess it should be our new favorite:

You and me and,
Me and you,
In my little room,
There's room enough for us to do,
The things we like to do.

Oops, I hit my elbow on the doorknob,
Its right there,
It's by the bed next to my head,
But I don't even care.

There's stars up on the wall,
And they all glow in the dark,
And we can hear the children playing,
Outside in the park.

There's bars on the window,
And if there were a fire,
We'd burn up for sure,
But that's just fine by me 'cause,
We would be together ever more.

But if we stick together,
Then I know we'll be ok,
'cause when it gets too cold outside,
This room is where we'll stay.
