I'm not entirely sure. But OTOH, I do think the historicity of Christ is important! (And why suddenly a post on this?)

I suppose it was that I think that the way I look at it is broadly similar, but we might be meaning slightly different things.

We are fallen creatures. We chose to be like gods on our terms. And to me original sin `works' because we are broken by others' brokenness, so break people by our brokenness. The cross breaks the cycle.

Pelagius didn't like the doctrine of original sin :)
