"Yes we did. I have not taken a breath in the past eight years as sweet or as memorable as the one I took at 292 this evening. For once in a very long time I can be an American in love with and proud of everything this country has stood for in our two centuries of nationhood. I wept and when I opened my eyes I realized that something profound had happened and I was alive to be a part of it. I don’t have the words for the sensation that rises in my chest when I relive those moments when Senator Obama became President-Elect. I can say I was there when. Yes we can America and yes, we did. Tomorrow is a new world."
Had several friends from all over the world write me saying we did good! We're talkin' England, Scotland, Japan, South Africa, Australia, Kiwi-land and a girl I met in Chicago from Russia. It chokes me up when I realize that was not just the US that elected Barack Obama, but in truth it was the World.
