Molly yawned widely as she awoke, shifting under her covers. As her alarm clock buzzed once more, she groaned and almost fell off the side of the bed trying to shut it off. In the end, she just stood up beside her plush bed and yanked the alarm clock's plug out of the wall. She stumbled as she made her way to the cold, cold bathroom, letting out a little shiver. It was much larger than she had ever been used to, with a large white claw-foot tub underneath a wide window and polished tile colored robin's egg blue covering the walls.

She was supposedly going to be late for her tutoring lessons, not that Molly minded. She really was rubbish at lessons. Learning from books just wasn't her sort of thing. She sucked her bottom lip into her mouth as she leaned over and turned on the water, preparing a big, steaming bubble bath for herself. There had been a time where her bath could only have been ten centimeters deep. Molly remembered that she had been scolded and forced to do toilet duty for three weeks because her bath had been forty centimeters deep. If she had a ruler on her, she had the sneaking suspicion that her bath was now a lot deeper than forty centimeters. Molly giggled to herself impishly before slipping into the warm water, blowing at the bubble mountains that were collecting.

The master hypnotist closed her eyes and sank her ears beneath the water, listening to the sounds from the two floors downstairs. One floor down, she could hear Primo and Lucy milling about, Primo talking to someone in America about business, and then switching over to someone in London about their classes. Lucy was getting herself ready to go to the library, it was obvious by the hair dryer she heard.

And, now, distantly-she could hear the smoke alarm. Usually, that'd be something very worrying, but Molly had grown used to it. Todson burned quite a few things. As a butler, he wasn't very good, but Molly loved him, and so did Primo and Lucy. Molly knew how to cook fairly well, so it didn't really matter to her.

She shot up as she heard Rocky's knocks from next door. Reaching up with her soapy hand, she knocked back with a tiny smile and ducked her entire head into the water, scrubbing her curly hair.

Feeling a bit like a sopping wet kitten, Molly climbed out of the tub and dried herself off, glancing at the large, full-length mirror. With her robe around her and towel on her head, she started rubbing her hair dry, looking at her small self in the mirror. It was odd, to like what was looking back after so long. She used to hate her Spammy legs and her closely set, forest-green eyes. Part of the mirror had fogged over with the steam from her water, and she drew a happy face in that space. Pulling the towel off, she laughed, loudly, as she noticed her hair all over the place.

She grabbed a brush and started passing it through her hair, just as there was a knock. "C'min!" Molly said, and turned as she saw the spitting image of herself in the doorway. Same wild curly hair, close-set green eyes, and the same splotchy skin.

Micky had woken up later than she had. She tossed him his electric toothbrush as she brushed her hair.

"Morning," he said with a yawn, laying a hand on his head. Molly walked over and pinched his cheeks, pulling them. Micky lay his hands over hers. "Stop it, that hurts. Skin is only really elastic in the reticular region, and that's under the epidermis!"

She let go with her eyebrows raised. "Micky, have you ever wondered why we look exactly alike, but we're really different?"

"Molly, we're twins," he pointed out, and stole her brush, pulling out a strand of her hair. "Almost the same DNA. Almost. We're not going to be completely alike. That's why I can solve puzzles-"

"And I can hypnotize?"

Micky frowned. "You can hypnotize better."

Molly bit her lip to keep from laughing and pushed Micky towards the mirror. "You should work on the mirror exercise. First step to being a hypnotist!"

She grabbed her toothbrush and toothpaste. "Go Micky!"

Micky watched his twin sister disappear and shook his head with a smile, retreating back into their bedroom and grabbing Hypnotism: An Ancient Art Explained from under their beds. He craned his neck to make sure Primo and Lucy had stayed downstairs, and retreated into their bathroom, turning the pages to chapter one.
