I found some comment at various anonymous posts that said something along the line "everyone loves Johnny's only because of the boys".
I totally against that opinion. Mostly at the "everyone" part.
Liking the Johnny's only because of the boys is never a bad thing, but there are also other people who like them-or are really into them-because of their songs. And in this case of me liking Hey! Say! JUMP, I'm one of the latter category. I know Yamada and Takaki even before I know that they are actually part of an idol group and notice the existence of J&A. But that's it. I'm not interested in them at all. And if my bestfriend hadn't forced me to listen to Arigatou two years ago, I might would not have any clue about the boys even until now.
Yeap. What brought me into this fandom was as simple as listening to Arigatou. I really like that song. For real. I searched for more of their songs, and then OVER came out and I was like, "Hey! So far their songs are good!" As I'm searching for the songs, I naturally got to know more about the boys, like what had happened to me when I dig for songs by 2NE1, SHINee, U-KISS, and SS501. In a way, the boys are just an extra bonus. Interested in the boys are just an extra bonus, like you get more entertaining stuff you can enjoy.
My rant is quite long, huh? In short, I fall for HSJ mostly because of their songs. For now, I really like three songs they performed in Johnny's World. One is, I don't know the title, I don't know if they have performed it in Shokura, and I heard only a glimpse of it in a video, but it sounds really good! Next is Where My Heart Belong, tho I love the orchestra version I make in my head more. And the third one, the one I like the most, is Hakkaryouran, and somehow I can relate it to Iroha Nioedo Chirinuru wo by Touhou [Yuuhei Satellite circle]. Yes, Hakkaryouran is that awesome. I demand for a studio version!
