Rush weeks ahead

Well, hi.

Ummm.

Gosh I don’t even know where to start. I have tons in my mind right now. Things happened in the last seven days. Not bad things, fortunately. Just assignments, seminar by seniors from Graphic Design, and-DODOOOOONNGG-new-but-not-really-new fandoms! coughemiichanknowscough

Okay, starting from the continuation of the event from last Friday. The trip to Museum of Bank Indonesia and INAICTA 2012 with DKV 2011. By bus. Because I was like couldn’t be separated from Nadia-Ika-Wiwin, we filled the seats with the arrangement “two seats and another two seats at one row behind”.

We left Bandung at 8.30 AM and arrived in Jakarta at around 11 AM if I’m not wrong. Two hours and a half ride-although it wasn’t jammed on the highway-and KARAOKE!!

Some of the karaoke DVDs the bus driver had: Kahitna (their songs supposed to be romantic but boys from the backseats knew how to ruin everything lol), Ayu Ting Ting (I don’t have anything against her but ewwwwww her old MVs are such jokes!), and compilation of latest songs by Indonesian boybands and girlbands which were the most entertaining so far. Entertaining as in there were some we can laugh at haha. Funniest videos went to the brother-sister groups Mikki’s and Minni’s (thankd to the unintentionally-funny short skit drama in their MVs), funniest song wnt to S9B’s ACDC (a remake of Las Ketchup’s Asereje and they even put one Sundanese “meregehese” in the lyric lololol gotta be honest that the MV is pretty decent tho), and everyone silently agreed that HITZ was the most decent Indonesian boyband as of now. Well the chorus for Yes Yes Yes is pretty good.

Enough about the boybands-girlbands. So as we arrived in Jakarta, we had lunch before we entered the museum. And uh… I don’t know what to say about the museum! Maybe I can list some of the things I love about it like the old European style bulding, the stained glass, the interior, the stuffs inside, the displayed old moneys. Hey they even have a modern-designed musholla outside the main building! Cool!

I love the museum. To bits. I generally adore museums and there’s a geology museum nearby my campus but I haven’t had the chance to pay a visit there yet, sadly. Kind of OOT oops.

So next we headed to JCC Senayan for INAICTA (Indonesia Information and Communication Technology Award) 2012 at 3 PM and arrived there at almost 4 PM. It was competition-exhibition event for ICT. You could say that we were kind of late for the main event so the place wasn’t crowded. Well, that way there was less hassle for me to see and try many beta-and even completed-version of new game apps yay! One of them is Dread Out, an Indonesian horror game about a high school girl who can see ghosts. Indonesian ghosts. And you can google the rest of the info yourself uuuuu I don’t like any kind of horror game. Even the pixelated one like Ib. Call me scaredy cat; I will never care T____T

We were told to go back to the bus at 6 PM and on our way out of the building, there was Christian Sugiono! I’m not his fan but whoa I got to meet two actors in two days (the first was Donny Alamsyah who I mentioned in the previous post). It isn’t something that happened often, you see. And at least the actors I met are fine men. Hmph.

The trip back to Bandung took about three hours. It was 9 PM when the bus stopped in front of the campus gate and I arrived at the boarding house at 10.30 PM. Ika and Wiwin stayed over cos Wiwin was too tired to go back to hers and Ika’s house was quite far. Wiwin slept in Nadia’s room and Ika… she was helping me with my assignment.

Yezzaaa I just got back from a one day long trip and BAM I had to finish something that I needed to submit via e-mail the next morning ugh. Something about sketches for Basic DKV’s first assignment, brushes, and ink. Mucho gracias Ika! I wouldn’t know what to do if you didn’t come to my room and help me doing the shit T^T Thankfully, it could be done soon and then we chitchatted (and this was also where I started spreading UlquiHime virus to her heh) until 3 AM.

Completed the Basic DKV assignment on Sunday. Worked on it together with Nadia and Wiwin in my room (Nea showed up at 6 PM) and they turned my room into a battlefield thanks to the ink splattered everywhere on the floor orz. Well I couldn’t really blame them. The assignment itself needed us to splatter the ink here and there on 25x25 cm concord papers. I’ll show you what the assignment is like when the lecturer returns it to me (I had it submitted on Tuesday).

Hufft the assignment wouldn’t be that evil if only we weren’t chased by deadline.

Only one class on Monday, like usual. This time in this class, the lecturer talked about Singapore because my class are said to have a four days trip there next year and also when there’s a superdiscount for airplane tickets so the trip will cost not more than IDR 3 millions woooo! Yes that’s possible to happen as it has been proved by DKV 2009 last year. Or this year?

Tuesday’s morning class… what was it about? Oh well. The second class, Basic DKV, I submitted  the assignment. Yeah. And then we started working on the sketches for the second assignment right away and it was due to two weeks later. If the first one we had to do twenty papers, this time it is leveled up to twenty four papers. 18x18 cm on A4 HVS. Wah! And then a seminar by the seniors from Graphic Design at 4-8 PM.

Wednesday ummmm Basic Typography class. Bu Naomi told us a story when she was invited to Greece for a big typography convention there plus her one month trip in Europe. And then she gave the class a big assignment due to two weeks later. Afternoon class, Psychology of Communication at seminar room like usual.

Thursday… Basic Illustration class in the morning. Talked about the unique point in photos. Then we were assigned to choose one unique photo and made two illustrations from it, one monochrome and one full color, due to two weeks later. Class ended and I watched Cabin In the Wood with Nadia and the boys before we should go for Civics class at 2 PM.

Friday classes. Watched Searching for Afghan Girl during Photography class and drew UlquiHime in History of Design class hehe. At night, wrote quote on A3 paper for next week’s Basic Typography. With 00 brush and ink and self-made font.

Wow this week’s classes had been laid back but WTF with all those DUE TO TWO WEEKS LATER ASSIGNMENTS GOD WHY.

Plus just today there was a seminar by the graduates from Graphic Design. After that we talked about the campaign project by DKV 2011 which I don’t really want to talk about now ugh.

So many things to do. So many things, so many things.

I’ll spare the fandom talk for the next post tomorrow. I’m already sleepy now, too tired to flail, so that’s all.

Wish you guys a happy weekend and nighty night :)
