I just finished my application to have a radio show at the UT radio station. My first inspiration to do something like this actually came from The Colbert Report and The Daily Show. I think I'm going to focus on local news though, like things going on around Austin and UT. So far I have a few people who have already agreed to come and be interviewed, even though my application hasn't been approved. I actually haven't sent it in yet.
I also had a few ideas of fake people I could interview, such as Bill Billferson, president of the UT chapter of the KKK. I also want sounds bytes of a toilet flushing and other "cartoony" noises. Other than that, I'm not sure what else I could do, but I'll think of stuff. I'd want a half hour show once a week; that would be pretty cool.
So if you're in Austin, be sure to tune into 91.7 FM KVRX sometime...I'll let you know later.
Other than that, I think I'm going to keep on writing for The Daily Texan and The Austin Student. Then all I need is a TV show, and I'll have complete control of the media!
