so i started my new semester at harvard extension today. the class tonight was primate ecology and social behavior, which seems like it's going to be pretty amazing. our professor is in his post doctorite work and has spent the last two years in trees with chimpanzees. there are about 6 other people in my class, four of whom are high school biology teachers, and all of the other students are doing graduate or post-graduate studies. then there's me. my teacher, after assessing our current jobs and ambitions for the future, told me that he was really excited to have me in the class because it's always good to have a fresh mind and that exploration is the key to being a good researcher, which i like to think of myself as, or aspire to be anyway. that made me feel great because i thought that i had gotten in way over my head. the textbook is crazy, but i think with this teacher and a small class size i should do fine. i look forward to my other classes, north american archaeology and the history of blues in america.
everything else is going well, i think i'm about to have three or four part time jobs plus the three classes but i feel good about that. maybe i'll finally get to save some money. and fruit salad finally got a practice space, which is excellent. AND i finally got a gym membership to the boston sports club in central square, which will be really good and i'll get to start working out again.
