Seeing as how the year started off with me celebrating New Years on a progressive dinner hayride (yeah I know) with the ex in Sugar Land, I hope that 2005 will be a better year. I've had my ups and downs this year but I'm a better person for all the things I've been through.
1. What did you do in 2004 that you’d never done before? Broke up with a cheating boyfriend, payed attention to myself for once and met some cool and interesting people. Oh yeah and I graduated from college too. Whoops how could I forget that one!
2. Did you keep your New Year’s resolutions and will you make more next year? I wanted to lose a few pounds which I accomplished and I also made a resolution to be an awesome girlfriend, which by the way I held up to my end of the bargain!
3. Did anyone close to you give birth? Nope.
4. Did anyone close to you die? No thank goodness.
5. What countries did you visit? Wow, now that I think about it, I never left Texas this year.
6. What would you like to have in 2005 that you lacked in 2004? More fun. More drinks. (I think I'll agree with Sonia on this one!)
7. What date from 2004 will remain etched in your memory and why? June 3, 2004 (The day Mike and I broke up) also November 20, 2004, when too many things fell into place. Realizations were discovered and randomness ensued.
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year? Graduated college
9. What was your biggest failure? Not listening to my gut in the beginning.
10. Did you suffer from illness or injury? Hmmm unless you count the bug that I got in May that made me not eat for four days straight.
11. What was the best thing you bought? The lovely
Coco.
12. Whose behavior merited celebration? Lindsey, for growing into an awesome young woman with high morals. (unlike her big sis, hehe j/k)
13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed? This is a given, Mike for going against everything he promised me he'd never do.
14. Where did most of your money go? Rent and food.
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about? Lindsey's graduation, Kenny Chesney concert during Spring Break, Cousin Ashley's wedding and lastly getting asked to the Saddle Tramps formal by the cutest Saddle Tramp if I do say so myself!.
16. What song will always remind you of 2004? Hmm, I have more than one: Float On- Modest Mouse, Take Me Out- Franz Ferdinand, I Believe in a Thing Called Love- The Darkness, Let Go- Trapt.
17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
a. Happier or sadder? Hmmm this is a toss-up I was happy last year, but I think I'm more excited this year about things rather than being just plain happy. I don't think I'm making any sense at all!
b. Thinner or fatter? Thinner
c. Richer or poorer? Poor, I'm always poor!
18. What do you wish you'd done more of? Hanging out with friends, reading.
19. What do you wish you'd done less of? Crying over losers.
20. How will you be spending Christmas? In my good ole hometown of Lamesa
21. Did you fall in love in 2004? Yes, but I equally fell outta love, but I did fall in love with the possibility of better things out there for me!
22. How many one night stands? 0, they always come back, therefore they aren't one night stands! (I'm sooooo kidding! hehe)
23. What was your favorite television program? I've always been a fan of the RW/RR challenges and even though I hate to admit it, I really liked the Swan this year! I know I know, you guys can stone me now! Speaking of stoned (hehe) I really like the Battle For Ozzfest as well as Real World. That show never gets old.
24. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year? I hate the word hate. Now, I strongly dislike the whore who did my boyfriend as well as half his fraternity, but things happen for a reason and her purpose in my life was to be a whore and make me realize that I'm better off without him anyway.
25. What was the best book you read? Well I haven't finished it but I've had it for a really long time and it's called The Dirty Girls Social Club.
26. What was your greatest musical discovery? The Postal Service and half the bands on the Garden State Soundtrack
27. What did you want and get? A girl puppy, an apartment with my lovely sister and lastly, my life back.
28. What did you want and not get? Revenge. But that's good because I don't need revenge. (Hmm Sonia has some really good answers!)
29. What was your favorite film of the year? Garden State, oh my gosh how this movie rocked me, don't you know I told Greg this was the ONE thing I wanted for Christmas and since I won't see him till the 29th, this gives him a whole day to buy it for me.
30. What did you do on your birthday and how old were you? 23. I spent it with Mike and his family at Rockfish, my favorite place to eat. Plus we went to Katarina's tee-ball game.
31. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying? If I would have gotten a REAL job this year that would have been great.
32. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2004? Personal fashion concept? Hmmm, my fashion sense never changes but I have developed a love for scarves. I wear them as headbands all the time.
33. What kept you sane? Jeralyn and The Lovely Coco.
34. What celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most? Zach Braff
35. What political issue stirred you the most? The fact that everyone and their mamas made fun of Howard Dean and his "wrestlemania" moment. I LOVED his enthusiasm! hehe
36. Who do you miss? Tammy, Christi, Craig, Amanda (but she's coming back to Lubbock soon!)
37. Who was the best new person you met?
Greg by far, but I don't know if that counts because I actually met him at my 22nd b-day party last year but we didn't really start hanging out till this year. Actual
new people would have to be Adam (Greg's brother) and his girlfriend Shayla.
38. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2004: Always trust your instincts.
39. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year: Can't just stick to one so here are some of my faves "Some things you can't erase no matter how hard you try"- Trapt, "If we get a little crazy, we'll blame it on the alcohol" Pat Green, "So let go, let go, jump in, oh well what you waiting for? It's alright cause there's beauty in the breakdown"- Frou Frou
How's that for a crazy year?
