you know we can't go on forever this way...

His parents have only just now dropped him off at the Academy's buildings, on their turf. He already doesn't like the feeling of this place, but he decides against complaining on it, as it won't do him any good. He's waiting amongst other students, except he's sitting on the ground with his back against a wall ( Read more... )

The Time Lord is very much aware of the communication between the two and it's that more than anything that saves them from any sort of real trouble (he thinks it's oddly sweet)

"You should be," he starts as he moves don the hall. "but.." He looks to the two of them and winks. "We'll wave it off for now, as long as the both of you don't wander off again. Do you think you can do that?"

Theta nods vigorously, relief clear on his face. "Mmhm, we promise, don't we Kosh?"

Don't mind if his fingers were crossed behind his back, really.

The Time Lord nods and keeps walking. "Prydonians, the both of you," he explains as they head for the boys new quarters. "Your things have been left in your room already and packets explaining the agenda for the next few days along with your schedules are on your beds."

Stopping at a door, he rests his hand on the knob before turning to look at the little ones. "Welcome home, boys." And he opens the door, revealing the room they would be sharing, at least for a while.

"Mhm, promise." Koschei mumbles, glancing sideways at the other both briefly. His fingers are crossed, too.

He follows the Time Lord obediently, looking around with wide curious eyes, memorizing the corridors and the pathways.

When the door to the room is opened, he peeks in before grinning widely at Theta. He got to room with his new best friend-- of course he was pleased!

Turning to the Time Lord, he smiles, really, honestly smiles. "Thank you." As much as he wants to contain himself, to be polite in front of the Time Lord but he runs into the room, examining everything. It's obvious by his eyes that he's got equations filling his mind, because that's how it works.

Everything is mathematical, logical, rational. He always makes sure that everything works before trusting it.

He's a special kid.

"Not a problem," he assures, even moving to ruffle the boys hair a little. He rather liked these two, why exactly he wasn't too sue but they seemed different, special even.

Sure he'd read their files but files don't tell the half of it, he knows that, especially the ones on this pair.

Theta moves to give him a quick hug, a gesture that catches the Time Lord off guard.

"Thanks a lot," he says quickly before darting into the room after Koschei.

The Time Lord just shakes his head, laughing at the two and giving them a quick wave before shutting the door and goes to inform the other teachers that there was no need to search anymore.

Meanwhile Theta has kicked off his shoes, tossed the papers that lay on the bed (he immediately gravitated towards the one closest to he window but if Koschei really wanted it, he knew he could switch) and climbed up on the bed, bouncing once or twice before grinning.

"These are good," he announces before he moves to jump a little higher, grin wide and quite pleased. "C'mon, Kosh, jump with me ( ... )

Koschei smiles and waves to the Time Lord before glancing over at Theta. He doesn't mind that the other boy took the bed by the window. He would have liked it, but Theta seemed to want it more. And he'd gladly let him have it.

"Are they?" He watches Theta a little curiously, almost as if he had never seen such an act before. And, chances are, he he hadn't.

He's a little hesitant at first, but he takes the other boy's hand and climbs up onto the bed, grinning widely. Soon enough, he's jumping, keeping hold of the boy's hand as he does so.

"This is good!" He laughs. He feels silly and childish, but it feels amazing all the same.

Later, he's going to have to remember to ask if Koschei would want to trade beds every now and again, or maybe just share. He wouldn't care either way and then both of them would get it.

Or maybe they wouldn't sleep on beds at all, maybe instead Theta would make them a fort, one right next to the window so they could both sleep there instead.

Yes, he thinks he might just have to do that.

The look the other boy is giving him does nothing but urge Theta to get him to jump. A boy who hasn't jumped on a bed has never truly lived, or at least that's what he believes.

"Isn't it?" He's grinning ear to ear now, more than a little pleased that the other has joined him. "I used to do this on my bed at home too but that one isn't nearly as bouncy."

And don't mind if he lets go of your hand for just a second Koschei, he's just leaping to the other bed, that's all.

Koschei blinks, obviously surprised by the other's jump across the beds.

"I've never done this before." He admits quietly before jumping to join the other boy. He actually stumbles a little bit, but only laughs it off and continues to jump.

He jumps as high as he can (without hitting the ceiling) before pulling his legs up, so even as he tries to sit, he bounces a little before coming to a rest.

Standing up, he moves to the window, looking out of it before trying to open it. And when he gets it open, he leans out a little, just looking around.

"'N' we can see everything from here, too, Theta!" He laughs. "This room is perfect."

Even though Theta had suspected as much already, he can't help but be a little surprised by the other boys admission. "Really," he questions looking at Koschei closely as if never doing such a thing must have made you horribly strange ( ... )

"It is," Koschei agrees and smiles over to the boy.

Looking back out to the horizon, he giggles softly, "I bet we'd be the best kings Gallifrey has ever, ever seen." Ruling Time Lords and the Citadel and everything beyond?

It sounded almost like one of those silly fairy tales that Theta had talked about.
After a moment of silence, he glances sideways to the boy, "Do you think this place will be very hard? To learn?"

Theta shakes his head. "I think it's supposed to be but I bet it's not."

Walking back towards the bed, he flops onto it arms outstretched and his cheek pressed against the blanket. "Bet we'll be the best ones here. Everyone else's just gonna sit around but we'll be amazing, just watch."

Yawning a little, he shifts around so he can still watch Koschei and the window. "What about do? Do you think it's gonna be hard?"

Koschei shifts so that his arms are leaning against the window sill as he looks out.

"Prob'ly not. I bet it'll be really, really easy for us." He grins over at the other and watches him for a moment. "Sleepy?"

Moving away from the window, he sits on the edge of the bed that Theta had flopped down onto. "You look it, anyway."

Theta shakes his head, folding his arms and resting it there. "Nope, just lazy. The beds're nice comfy too, they make me not wanna do anything."

Watching as the other boy wanders over, Theta grins a little, before sitting up enough to try and grab the other boy's shoulders and pull him down next to him.

"See," he says. "Comfy isn't it?"

Koschei doesn't expect to be pulled back, but he allows the other to do so and looks up at him, grinning

"Mmhm, comfy." He shifts about on his side and yawns. "Can I stay here?" He mumbles quietly almost thinking he'd be sent over to the other bed. But this one was comfy and warm and he was so, so tired...

Theta nods, yawning yet again. "Yeah, 'course you can."

And when Koschei turns on his side, he will turn in the opposite direction so that their backs were touching.

"G'night, Kosh," he might mutter very softly because he was still in a bit of denial about going to sleep, even as his lids were falling shut.

Koschei smiles and shifts about to get comfortable.

"Mm, g'night Theta." He yawns and finds his eyes slipping close completely, losing his mind to dreams and long-deserved sleep.
