VISIBLE INK FESTIVAL 2005: CULTURALINK!

CulturaLink is happening on Saturday, 21st of May from 11am until 7pm. It’s going to be a FREE day of workshops, exhibitions, free food, performances and bands!

On the day, there will be performances by the Zambiacongo Capoeira Group and the hip hop dance troop, Shorty’s Crew, plus live acts such as Dub Doubt, Reverend Green, The Serenity, The Citizens, Duck Politik among others! There will also be exciting workshops to get involved in such as self-defence, hip hop dance, writing, painting and drawing, street art, environment activism plus more! Also, on display, will be the works of talented young Brisbane artists. Free food will be provided on the day by the people from Food Not Bombs, so come along and get into it!

CulturaLink’s aim is to act as a day for young people to celebrate the cultural diversity of Brisbane by showing off what the young people of Brisbane can do. We hope that this day will inspire and motivate young people to take on their own projects using the resources available to them at Visible Ink. What makes CulturaLink unique in terms of festivals is that we promote the participation and involvement on the day and also in the process leading up to the festival. It’s a festival for young people, by young people.

CulturaLink is proudly supported by Brisbane City Council and 4zzz community radio (102.1)
