And Flowers

[Gai really enjoyed hanging out with Iruka, both at Kakashi's party and on their date. So, before class, he stopped by a flower store to buy some flowers. After much confusion, he left with a bouquet with tiger lilies and some other flowers he didn't recognize. Stepping to Iruka's classroom, he leaves the vase of flowers on his desk with the note

Guess who is at the flower store. boaring June 23 2011, 16:58:40 UTC
[Ino leans on the wooden counter, surrounded by a multitude of floral arrangements and bottles of nail polish lined up in front of her. The bell at entrance rings, but she makes no move to bother her customer just yet, neatening the edges of Navajo White and Iris I Was Thinner (it suits Ino so much it's scary) on her pinkies before looking up.]

... Gai? [Refrains from the "What are you doing here?", because why else would one visit a flower shop?]

Ino! One of my youthful students, I did not know you worked at this flower shop! [Gai grins broadly at Ino, teeth gleaming.]

I wanted to get some flowers for Iruka!

[This had seemed like a good idea at the time, but now, as Gai stares at all the flowers around he had no idea where to start.]

Uhhh...Do you know what youthful flowers I should give him?

Family business, and all. [Blinks the stars out of eyes. She forgot about the blinding teeth.]

Hm... it depends on the occasion! [Sits up straighter, being in her element. Despite her apparent boredom and familial obligations, she really does love the flower store.]

A bouquet can have all kinds of underlying meanings, to convey what you want to say. [Pause.] Not that you need much help.

[No man can top Gai when it comes to flowery language. Hurr.]

What about for no reason? I wanted to thank him for a youthful time and that I'd like to do it again! [He grins. It never occurs to him that he probably shouldn't be telling all of this to a student.]

Why thank you Ino! [How nice of a compliment!]

Gratitude counts. That's as good a reason as any. [Waves off his thank you. Don't mention it. The irony.]

[Rests her chin on her arms, thoughtful.] How about some hyacinths and a few sprays of bellflowers? That'll work. [Talking more to herself than anything, really.]

[She moves around from behind her bench top, picking out the designated flowers, hands maybe hovering over the tiger lilies long enough for one to notice.]

[Gai watches here, not really understand how she chose flowers but she must know what she's talking about. He spots a really pretty flower - the tiger lilies - and points at them.]

What about those?

Tiger lilies symbolise wealth and pride, not quite to your needs. But they're pretty, hey? [Grandiose and extravagantly so. Just like Gai.]

Why do you ask? Think they're "youthful" enough for Iruka?

They are beautiful! Just like Iruka! [Gai beams at Ino once again.] I must have some of those for the youthful Iruka!

[Shrugs.] If you insist~

[Takes care to arrange the blooms, finishing the presentation off with a ribbon wrapped around.] Here you go. It's on the house.

Why thank you my youthful student! [He takes the flowers and gives him the Classic Good Guy Pose.]

[Ff completely ignores Classic Good Guy Pose] Oi, oi. In return you have to tell me how it goes, all right? [Is that a wink? Maybe.]
