[Gai really enjoyed hanging out with Iruka, both at Kakashi's party and on their date. So, before class, he stopped by a flower store to buy some flowers. After much confusion, he left with a bouquet with tiger lilies and some other flowers he didn't recognize. Stepping to Iruka's classroom, he leaves the vase of flowers on his desk with the note

I wanted to get some flowers for Iruka!
[This had seemed like a good idea at the time, but now, as Gai stares at all the flowers around he had no idea where to start.]

Hm... it depends on the occasion! [Sits up straighter, being in her element. Despite her apparent boredom and familial obligations, she really does love the flower store.]
A bouquet can have all kinds of underlying meanings, to convey what you want to say. [Pause.] Not that you need much help.

[Rests her chin on her arms, thoughtful.] How about some hyacinths and a few sprays of bellflowers? That'll work. [Talking more to herself than anything, really.]
[She moves around from behind her bench top, picking out the designated flowers, hands maybe hovering over the tiger lilies long enough for one to notice.]
