Rant

My professor is an idiot...and bi-polar.

I get an email from him today that said:

"FYI, seriously. Get going with this. Don't behave in a vacuum! You are a representative
of WKU and what you do or don't do is a reflectioin on all of us. Become proactive
and act responsibly. Need I remind you of grade consequences and recommendation
consequence? I expect you will make the contact. You ignored my note's info that
Greenwood is on Spring Break next week. I expected you'd behave more responsibly.
See the attachment, again, of the arrangement made for you by Mrs. Patsy Powell, our
coordinator for school visit placemnts."

I was waaaay confused. A while back, my Intro to Education professor had approached me about putting me into a classroom for my observation hours. That confused me b/c I never asked him to do that for me, but I thought it wasn't a big deal. He told me that he would have more details for me later. He never said anything else about it, and I didn't worry about it because I already knew where I was going to observe. Well, when I got that angry email today, I was very confused. I emailed him back and said :

"I honestly have no idea what you are talking about. I never asked to be placed into a school. I wasn't sure if I needed to be placed in a Kentucky classroom, or not. You approached me one day about how you had spoken with someone about getting me into a classroom. You said that you didn't have all the details about it, and that you would tell me more in the next class meeting. I thanked you and that was the last I heard of it. I didn't worry about it because I knew that I would be doing some observing in Ohio and Tennessee. I am sorry for the bad representation, but I am very confused. I had no idea about any of this."

He responded with:

"OK. I'll take the responsibility on the missunderstanding. But please email the teacher and
tell that I (Dr. Kiraly) missunderstood your situation. And other arrangements were made
And thank her for her cooperation. I appreciate getting back to me so soon. Thanks."

What?!? In your first email I was irresponsible and living in a vacuum (whatever that means), and now it is not my fault and you appreciates me?? I mean, it really wasn't my fault. He never told me that he had scheduled something for me, but I didn't think professors ever admitted that they were wrong. This was a crazy afternoon. I know this entry wasn't funny...I just wanted to rant. Suck it.

Woot.
