happy new year, folks!
i rang in the new year here at home. and it seemed a little lame at first, but then it got better. in fact, i was worried that i would be perceived as downright NERDY when helen proposed that we play this game that she got called
munchkin. it's kind of like a role-playing card game, complete with armor, levels, points, doing battle, and rolling a die. pretty damn nerdy.
it also didn't help the nerdiness factor that it was new year's eve, i was spending it at home, and we were drinking mountain dew, eating doritos, watching the simpsons in the background (with commentary) AND helen was still in her bathrobe, checking her buddy list every so often on her laptop.
but the game turned out to be a lot of fun, and gained even more credibility when anna told me that her siblings had both played it and they are definitely not uncool. well, i think.
so new year's eve was me, anna, jon, helen and my dad, and it was nice. pretty quiet, but then again, sometimes new year's eve is overrated.
