Hancock

So I just saw "Hancock" on the giant screen. It's exactly what you'd expect for the first hour, then another half hour you didn't pay for. The end is both a very surprising twist I didn't see coming, and an uninteresting diversion from the central gimmick that made the film work. Overall it was fun, Will Smith and Jason Bateman were both funny in their own ways, and the jokes range from corporate critique to head-in-ass humor.

Speaking of their corporate critique, it's funny but Jason Bateman pitches almost the exact "free medication for the poor" plan that I linked to in my last post. The difference is his character pitches it as a charity, while it seemed a good idea for a law. Maybe if we had Hancock's endorsement the mere example would drive policy, but in the meantime law seems the sensible avenue.

The best parts were very fun. I think I'm basically a sucker for flying, period. It's sad to boil it down that low, because I'm so into plot analysis or what have you, but if you have strong flying sequences, you've got my heart.
