It will stop. Whether it was against wanderers, supernaturals, regular humans, violence like that is always put to a halt eventually. Sometimes it takes a real fucking long time. Sometimes it reincarnates later on down the road.

There are more of us than there are them. I don't need secret intel to know that, and we've got plenty of resources.
