Why does the music scene have to be so elite? Why do people who are fans of jazz, think that they are so much better than people who are fans of rock?
What's the difference?
There's trash in every genre, as there is gold.
Rap, for example. I hate rap. I really do. Altho there are artists I've heard who I do enjoy listening to. I don't give a crap if they 'revolutionised' rap or anything like that.
Just because a rock song is in 4/4 time and has power chords doesn't mean it's 'bad'.
And isn't 'good/bad' all based on opinion?
Who said there were guidelines for music? Even classical artists rebelled. Mozart, for example. A genius. Yet he was thrown into an un-marked grave. Who gave a crap about him in his time? Nobody. GREAT classical musicians were hated...just because of the music they made. They didn't fit in, because their music wasn't 'in' at the time.
It's just the same freaking pattern over and over again.
Why can't we look past our own musical tastes, and accept other people's taste. Why do we have to get into arguments over 'whose better' and 'whose more hardxcore' and other crud like that?
