it's the ripple not the sea that is happening

Forest fair was jolly good fun, as always - although, they've really cracked down on certain things this time around. They stopped all of the music and festivities at 8pm, so it wasn't the same as two years ago when we were dancing and drinking until nearly midnight and then partying by the river with bonfires and drum circles and such. (lol hippies) Luckily, I happen to know someone who has an AMAZING house in Girdwood, so we camped out in her yard, and that was perfectly satisfactory for my tastes. Guy and I were completely exhausted by Saturday afternoon so we decided to come back to Anchorage and take it easy for the rest of the weekend.

Now that it's Monday, I've been getting back to the tasks at hand. I rode my bike over to the UAA Financial Aid office and got some of that stuff figured out. I just finished applying for a loan through the actual lender, which was kind of a nightmare but at least it's out of the way. I also applied for a couple more jobs.

It's REALLY hot out today...like 77 degrees. But the sky is hazy because I think there's a forest fire happening somewhere nearby. It doesn't smell like burning, but it's definitely that sort of a haze.

I get to house/dog-sit for sydnita's family again next week. I enjoy doing this! In the meantime, I'm riding my bike everywhere. Let me reiterate how much I ADORE my bike. That and my piano are the two things that I have absolutely NO regrets about spending lots of money on. They improve my quality of life so much!!

Shane sent me a couple of pictures of this pretty rose in the garden in New Hampshire that he said reminded him of me. Awwwwww. I really like these photos too! I love how it looks like they're glowing from within. Behold...

Happy Summer, everyone!
