O Canada...

Happy Canada Day, people! In honor of the holiday, I'm queuing up a playlist with all of my favorite Canuck musicians: Rufus & Martha Wainwright, Kate & Anna McGarrigle, Jane Siberry, Rush, The Tragically Hip, Joni Mitchell, Sarah McLachlan, Alanis, Anne Murray, Barenaked Ladies, Nelly Furtado, Tara MacLean, Chantal Kreviazuk, etc etc etc...

Last night was great fun. I met up with my good friend Rayna from high school (she's in town for the reunion) at Myrna's and we did some karaoke. We even reprised our duet of "From This Moment On" that we sang in a choir concert way back in high school! Then we proceeded to the Avenue where we met up with Alaina (with whom I was never friends in high school, but I realize now that she's wicked cool) and a few other people. We drank, ate salty snacks, and played darts. Good times.

I applied for a job at an animal shelter yesterday. That'd be fun, but I'm not banking on it because I don't have any experience in the field. I'm trying to keep a positive attitude, though, as always.

I'm trying to persuade my good friend, Guy, to move in with me. I think he's going to do it, but he's dragging his feet on saying yes or no. It would be a mutually beneficial arrangement, though. I'm not going to quit hounding him about it.

The Girdwood Forest Fair is this weekend, and I REALLY want to go. The only thing that's stopping me is the dog. I don't have anyone to look after her while I'm gone. Emily is already busy house-sitting, and Lindsey said she would do it but she and her family will be in Kasilof for the weekend. Mostly I just really want to be there on Friday night to see Pamyua play. I saw them last time I went to Forest Fair, and I became an instant fan. Their music is this totally AWESOME fusion of funk and rock with lyrics that are mostly in Yup'ik and Greenlandic. Totally danceable.

Alright, back to the business at hand: job-hunting. Gerg.

job-hunting, roommates, music, friendship, serey, summer fun
