She could plead for him to grant her forgiveness. She could say that she’d never do anything like it again - that they’d do it all together now as a couple.
He had every right to not grant forgiveness.
She hoped he would hold her hand, and watch together as the dust settled into new earth, firm and grounding.
Or maybe he wouldn’t.
