Yuletide
Dear wonderful Yuletide writer,
First of all, you rock. ♥ Just know that in advance, okay? Okay. :)
I'm not going to give you an epic Yuletide manifesto, but I hope that between the optional details I gave you (which are copied below) and anything I say in this letter, that it sparks a wonderful, fantastic idea for you to write that I will love reading come Christmas Day. I'll be equally as happy with any of the options listed below.
I like: fluff, romance, falling-in-love, falling-in-love-all-over-again, self-discovery, angst*, introspection, friends becoming more than friends, friends being awesome friends, backstory, hurt/comfort (especially emotional hurt), what happens after canon - really, I'm easy to please. As long as you feel like it fits the characters and the story you want to tell, have fun with it. Het, slash and femslash are all equally okay in my books, as well as friendship, but I'm not that enamored with straight gen-fic.
(*This year has been kind of a crazy, rough year for me on a personal level, so I'd like a fic that was lighter on the angst, if at all possible, but I do like it well enough as a general rule.)
I don't like: any sort of consent issues when it comes to sex, infidelity, unhappy endings - sad, bittersweet, those are fine. I just don't like things in the vein of "rocks fall, everyone dies." I've also grown a real distaste for pregnancy (either fpreg or mpreg) in fic - unless it's canon, then I don't mind. Which only applies to one of my requests, as far as I know. Ditto character death, which I know applies to just about all of the fandoms at one point or another. If it's in canon, it's fair game, but don't kill off someone who isn't dead. Please? I don't want my Yuletide to have a body count.

Pretty Little Liars - Spencer Hastings & Toby Cavanaugh
Anything goes with Spencer and Toby. The show tends to give me enough angst for the two of them, so I'd prefer if it was fluffier. Given the show, however, I understand if that's unavoidable. I also enjoy Hanna/Caleb, if you need a background pairing, but would prefer for Wren to be non-existent if at all possible. If you don't want to write Spencer and Toby together, then I'd like to see them as friends, but I really do prefer them as a couple. I also have a weakness for Spencer and Hanna as a friendship, as well as the idea of Toby and Caleb being friends. Hell, if you want to OT4 it? I'm down.
Go wild with the prompt with these two, all I ask is that they stay roughly the same age they are now, whether it's set during the show or in the near-ish future. I'm still making my way through the first half of season 3, but I should be caught up by Christmas. If you want to set it in season 3, however, I am fairly spoiled for most of what has happened. Any rating is fine.
If you want to ignore everything from after the end of season 2 on? That's completely fine with me. Juuuuust saying. I think I pretty much covered everything else in what I said up there, but I love the quiet moments they share, and a fic that covers some additional quiet moments between the two of them would be oh-so-lovely. This is pretty much the same request I made last year, just updated since we've had a whole year's worth of canon between then and now.
Lie to Me - Cal Lightman & Gillian Foster
I would love, love, love to read anything you can write for these two. I may or may not still be a little bitter that Fox canceled the show - then again, that's par for the course with Fox. I love their little symbiotic relationship and all the history they have together and how Emily just adores Gillian, and apparently, I have a lot more Cal/Gillian feelings than I realized I still had. If you don't want to write them together as a couple, then some sort of awesome little friendship piece (maybe including Emily?) would be fantastic. I just love these characters and want to see them in fic again.
As for prompts, whatever you can think of. Post-series finale fic is always a plus with me, first-time-having-sex, talking out the intricacies of being a couple, whatever works for you will work for me, if this is where we matched.
Any rating is fine, and I've seen the entire series.
The best thing about this show, for me, besides the awesome ways to detect emotion with the microexpressions, was the relationship between Cal and Gillian. But I also adore Emily and how she loves her father, but she also loves Gillian, and the three of them together create a little family unit without even technically being entirely a family. (Yet...) There's a lot of love between the characters in this show, and that's what makes it so great for me. :)
Skins (UK) - Chris Miles & Jal Fazer
It's difficult for me to articulate how much I love Chris & Jal. They were lovely in their time and absolutely heartbreaking when they ended, and it creates an effect wherein it becomes difficult to sit back and think of them objectively. I loved their relationship. Full stop. I love them. Full stop. I love how they came together and loved each other for that brief period of time where all was good and right in the Skins universe, until it wasn't anymore.
I don't even know what to put down in case you matched with me here but don't want to write them as a ship. For gen 1, I also adore Cassie, and I'm good with Sid/Cassie if you want something for a background, but I'd just love to see something about Chris/Jal. You can keep it canon-compliant, or shatter canon into a million pieces, or set it in an alternate universe where they're all stuffed animals in some kid's bedroom. Who have sex. Or something. If something I've said in here makes you want to do something involving the future generations as well, I also love Naomi/Emily, Rich/Grace and Mini/Franky. I'd just prefer if Tony, if he makes an appearance, has a minimal role.
Any rating is okay, and I've seen all of gen 1 (and up to the end of series 5).
I'm not sure what more I can say that isn't in my prompt, but just anything involving these two in some form or fashion. I guess if I had to say no to one idea, it would be something entirely focused on Jal's grief. Too much of a sad ending, and these two already have a devastating one.
Days of Our Lives - Will Horton & Sonny Kiriakis
I fairly recently marathoned the entire Will/Sonny storyline on YouTube, so it's my newest love out of all of my fandoms in this letter. I was raised in a household that strictly watched Young & The Restless when it came to daytime soaps, so I don't have the fond childhood memories of watching this show that you very well might, dear author. That being said, with Will/Sonny, feel free to go wild. They're still so new in their relationship that there's a lot of different ways you can take them. Outside of Will and Sonny, I love Marlena and I love the relationship that she has with Will, so if she makes an appearance, that would just be the bow on the present. I'm not particularly crazy about EJ, so if he can make a minimal appearance (if one at all), that would be even better.
Any rating is okay, and I'm caught up with this particular storyline.
And now for something completely different! I know that Days of Our Lives is a soap with almost twice my lifetime's worth of history behind it, and what I've seen is but a drop in the bucket. That being said? I wouldn't be opposed to you mentioning historical aspects of the show (like old storylines or something). However, don't make it so that I had to have watched an entire six-month storyline from 1996 or something in order to understand your fic. I don't really have other ships I like or dislike that you could include in the background, although Will or Sonny with anyone besides each other is basically out, and I'm not entirely crazy about what of EJ/Sami I've seen. Take that for what it's worth. Basically, I just want Will/Sonny, together, being all couple-y and such. I know it's a soap opera, but do keep in mind what I don't want in a fic - I know some of those are tropes common to soap opera writing, and I don't want them in this fic either.
Honestly, I'll pretty much love whatever you write, regardless of which prompt it's for, so don't stress about it. ♥ If you like it and have fun with it, then it's all in the spirit of the season, and I will enjoy it. Seriously.
