Happy Halloween!

Or if you're me, kinda creepy Halloween!

And by kinda creepy, I mean I only had one group of 14 year olds come to my house.  So instead of being a cute neighbor who dresses up for the trick-or-treaters, I'm a full grown woman who spent the evening alone in her house dressed like a scarecrow eating candy.

Not really bad for a Monday night, I guess.

This came on the tails of a delightful weekend with Ryan, Ben, and James, who arrived here Friday evening.  We walked around Harbor Walk and eventually grabbed dinner at McGuire's, which was delicious and it turns out it's a brewpub, which I did not know before!  The food was very good; I recommend the 18 cent bean soup.  The guys all got neon green drinks of some sort, and Ben feasted on the towering garbage burger while the rest of us enjoy regular food before heading back to my house for fun and games and such.

Hmm hmm, other highlights... we did some crosswording... spent a very very windy day on the beach where I saw the biggest jellyfish I've ever seen!... I chased a bag of trash way out into the ocean... we saw Rise of the Planet of the Apes at the dinner theatre...  hung out at the park and played volleyfrisbee... played floor pong... played Cranium... played quarters... thought about playing Liar's Dice... drank a lot of PBR.

What a weekend!

And what did I do the weekend before last?  Well I tell ya.  Lindsey got here Thursday night, and we stayed up and chatted some before bed.  Friday while I was at work she went to Publix and got treacle, malta, and pistachio gelato (among other things).  Upon sudden impulse, Genevieve and Lola decided to visit as well!  So pre-windy chilly weekend of last, we went to the beach and sunned ourselves silly on the jetties.  Lola seemed to really enjoy the sand and surf, and the butterflies were bountiful and the sunshine plentiful.  There were bubbles as well and a shadow sword fight, to the victor goes the spoils and all that jazz.

Eventually we did go home to cook up a delicious curry pumpkin soup and greens before turning to more destructive things.  Soon enough we were setting string afire and filling buckets with ice in an attempt to turn wine bottles into drinking glasses.  We had a few attempts that were more successful than others, but overall, the string strategy appears to be flawed.  It was still fun, though.

Lindsey had to leave early early Sunday, but Genevieve and I enjoyed a leisurely brunch at the Florida House before she left for Alabama.  And I spent the rest of the day being leisurely as well.

And now, after gorging myself on Whoppers, it's time to change out of this straw hat and into some pjs and hop into bed.  Syracuse Wednesday. <3333333333
