Hello hello and how do you do?
Thanks to Tropical Storm Lee, I am just now back at work. I can't say I was terribly disappointed to stay in Syracuse for an extra two days. Samii and I spent all of Monday morning trying to get my original flight changed so I wouldn't be stuck in the Charlotte airport, eventually getting me scheduled for a flight yesterday afternoon. Thanks to this, we got to go to the Turning Stone Casino not too far from her school where she rocked the black jack table while I donated money. And then Tuesday night we got to see Our Idiot Brother, which was a pretty good movie turned amazing by a cast I really adore.
I flew into the city late Thursday night and was greeted with delicious Subway. Friday I got to have lunch with some of Samii's friends before we headed down to Scranton to spend the weekend with her family and friends there. After seeing her mother and meeting her dad, little brother, and Gallas, we picked up Julie and went to their friend Alyssa's house to play. I met several more of her friends, killed at beer pong with m'lady, and slept on the floor as if I, too, were 19. All in all, a very good night. We spent the day at the house, napping, lounging, and enjoying delicious food. That night we watched Tommy Boy and spent a good deal of time snuggling. Perfect.
Sunday was much of the same, with the addition of meeting Julie's new puppy, Chester, and visiting the Italian Food Festival! Both were pretty amazing. I also got to meet Louis, one of Sam's older brothers. We made s'mores until the rain chased us inside. Let's see let's see... other things of note: Patrice's eggplant Parmesan is some of the best food I've ever eaten, I tried my first pierogie, and we played a lot of the Chinese hand-slapping game.
Overall, I'd say it was a pretty stellar trip. I missed the flooding here, returning to beautiful weather with a happy heart.
