Tom, get your plane right on time...

Work is fantastic.  The baby is happy and healthy and beautiful and tiny tiny tiny.  The couple is very nice and they have wonderful big dogs.  Speaking of dogs, we've got a puppy running amock in the house!  In case I forgot to tell you before, we went with Amanda to pick up Teddy, her new Sheltie.  We now have four pets in our 3 bedroom, and we stay entertained.

Last night Chelsea came over and we had some delicious potato soup that Amanda made (a follow up to her French onion soup the day before!) and exchanged some gifts under our Christmas tree before heading to Baytown for ice skating!  I was so happy for so many reasons, not the least of which was the flood of memories from last year, when Lindsey and I skated in Central Park during our wonderful road trip.  Amanda played photographer while Jessica, Chelsea, and I did our laps, with no falls!  There was racing and snap the whip- daring, right?

Today I after work I went to Touch of the Orient, this spa place in Niceville.  We bought combo packages there a few months ago and I've been using them up recently.  I was en route to a foot massage, but I was early, so I stopped and got an ice cream cone at McDonald's.  That did not take up much time at all.

Lucky for me, I then had a lovely indie movie moment!  The Only Living Boy in New York started playing and traffic slowed and there was a sea foam green used book store.  There were shelves lining the outside of the store.  It was cluttered and junky and winding inside, with hidden corners and record bins and full shelves.  It was wonderful.

I wandered around there for half an hour, then got my foot massage (which was lovely), then headed back home.  Jessica and I are leaving tomorrow after work for the Shoals!  We'll be there until Sunday.  I can't wait to see the family, not to mention O'Brian and Shareese and Meaghan!  Be prepared for tears.  Happy tears.
