L - O - V - E, it's a mystery...

I guess I really decided to drive to Birmingham on Tuesday, but I let myself believe it was just an option up until I left for work yesterday.  I got off a few minutes early and hopped in the car, making it to the theatre at 11:50.  Jen, my trusty spy, gathered movie going information so that my arrival was a complete surprise.  How wonderful!

I scanned the parking lot when I got there and didn't see any cars which I recognized.  I got a little nervous, but I got in like to buy the ticket anyway, and decided to call Graham. He was in the lobby, on the lookout for Meagan and Jonathan.  Surprise one!  I got the ticket and went to tackle him, then we talked a minute and he sent a message to Lindsey and company saying he had a surprise.  I bet they were thinking Junior Mints.

I went into the theatre and scanned the crowd; they spotted me first and Lindsey came barreling down the stairs, Surprise two!  Hugs hugs hugs to Lindsey, Lydia, Erica, Genevieve, and Anna, then some quick seat arranging before the lights dimmed and Jonathan and Meagan and Jonathan came in, more stair running, surprise three!

And then.  Oh, and then...

I've never been so nervous about a movie in my life.  I think half the audience teared up in the first five minutes.  The movie exceeded my expectations, made me think and hurt and love in so many ways.  I can't wait to watch it at home where we can howl when the impulse hits- and the impulse most certainly hits.  Toward the end there was a moment where I was crying, tears dripping, soaking my collar, and Lindsey and Meagan turned toward me at the same time and we just sort of collapsed on one another, giggling at our tears.

It's a good movie.  I want you to see it.

Now I'm in Tuscaloosa, though I'll be traveling back to Florida later tonight or early in the morning.  I've got work at noon tomorrow.  Sometimes life is just so good.
