Monthly Music Post

Nov 30, 2011 22:44

November was all about going home finally. I got past the homesick phase. I was way past the "THANK GOD I'M OUT OF NH" phase months ago. This month was dedicated to that four hour drive up to NH. My family isn't the Thanksgiving type. We don't do it. So, this mix isn't going to be about that. It will however be cheesy driving songs, that get will probably make your week much more happy! (and may give you a flashback to the 80's!)
And without further ado: let the fist pumping and cheesy air guitar solos begin!
... You've been warned!

November 2011

Don't You Forget About Me~ Simple Minds
Will you stand above me?
Look my way, never love me
Rain keeps falling, rain keeps falling
Shout~ Tears for Fears
In violent times, you shouldn't have to sell your soul
In black and white, they really really ought to know
Those one track minds that took you for a working boy
Kiss them goodbye, you shouldn't have to jump for joy
Africa~ Toto
The wild dogs cry out in the night
As they grow restless, longing for some solitary company
I know that I must do what's right
As sure as Kilimanjaro rises like Olympus above the Serengeti
I seek to cure what's deep inside, frightened of this thing that I've become
Private Eyes~Hall & Oates
You play with words
You play with love
You can twist it around, baby
That ain't enough
Gone Daddy Gone~ Violent Femmes
Beautiful girl lovely dress
Where she is now I can only guess
Separate Ways (Worlds Apart)~ Journey
Feelin' that it's gone
Can change your mind
If we can't go on
To survive the tide love divides
Down Under~ Men @ Work
Lying in a den in Bombay
With a slack jaw, and not much to say
I said to the man, "Are you trying to tempt me
Because I come from the land of plenty?"
Oxford Comma~ Vampire Weekend
Who gives a fuck about an Oxford comma?
I've seen those English dramas too, they're cruel
So if there's any other way to spell the word
It's fine with me, with me
Kingdom of Rust~ Doves
The road back to Preston
Was jutted out in snow
As I went looking for that stolen heart

music, songs i'm digging
