Friends, I need a little help. I need to call that doctor friend of my doctor friend and I can't get myself to do it. He says call anytime and gave me both his numbers, but I am soooo shy about calling people and asking for things--like to tell me how he got well. So if any of you has any extrovert energy I'd appreciate it if you could send me just a bit.
Also later today I am going out to ride Joy and work with Hustle who is now named "Buddy". We are going to be doing some Monty Roberts techniques with him on the ground--sort of "rebreaking" him. No one is going to ride him for two months at least until we get him settled on the ground and teach him to relax. Joy's owner will be helping us with this.
I'm happy because I think this is the right thing to do for him to make him safer and happier. And because it doesn't require mounting him or even saddling him, I will be able to go out during the week and work with him and it will help me get over my fear.
As a reward for helping him with Buddy AND to finally celebrate our 25th anniversary, we have signed up to do this: http://www.yellowstone.ws/rides/packtrips.html It sounds more strenuous than it is...I'll have rest time every day. We have the chance of seeing Grizzly Bears and Wolves!
