Blatant Solicitation
Ok, so I had researched into sites like this before--getting paid for taking surveys and I was curious about them, so I finally signed up for one called "Inbox Dollars." It's free to sign up and you get a $5.00 bonus for doing so. There are various ways to make money off their site, but I mostly take surveys and read their "paid" emails although I've gotten two rebates by shopping online through their portal for things I would have bought anyway.
The biggest catch about the site is that you can only get paid when you've accumulated at least $30 in your account. I signed up at the beginning of November and I just got my $30.
Through them I also signed up for other survey companies and I just received a $3 check in the mail.
So, who couldn't use a few extra bucks for hanging out on the internet just a little bit longer and giving your opinion? Yes, the downside is that your junk mailbox gets fuller, but *shrug* it fills anyway. I have to admit that the surveys are kind of fun (most of them) and they screen respondents by age, sex, area of the country so we wouldn't be competing for the same surveys, either.
The reason I am writing this here is that I can also get $5 bonuses for referring friends who sign up through me. I don't get the bonus until the person whom I referred makes their first $30, so I'm not asking for anyone to sign up if they really aren't interested, but if you ARE interested, I'd love to be able to refer you and you can make some money, too.
$30 isn't much, but on the other hand, it's not bad for just sitting on the computer and it's $30 I wouldn't have had. If you shop online (which I do a lot) and you shop through their portal, they have a surprisingly large representation of stores on the web. If I was going to buy it anyway, then why not?
A friend of mine happened to sign up to the same thing as I did in the same week. We had no idea we were each signing up. She's up to $29 right now.
