I can smell him from the top of the stairs. It's a deep musty smell, a hint of cigars in there somewhere, and rich-overpowering. gosh I can smell him from the top of the stairs. Him down there in the kitchen having coffee with my mother. My mother in her make-up and "work" clothes at 8:17 having coffee that won't even cover his scent.
