so, this past sunday, halloween, tracy and i went to go and see a movie. we wanted to see a scary movie since it was spooky time anyway. so, we decided to go and see "saw". all giggles aside, it was the most horrific movie i have ever seen. the acting alone scared me so much that i nearly had to leave the theater. please, whatever you do with your hard earned money, do not go and see this movie. unless you need a good laugh at your own expense. this is one of those films that truly could have benefited from, oh let's just say, a director, a cast and a clue. i have laughed while sitting in many a theater and even during a horror film, but it was due to something humorous in the movie. not the movie itself. danny glover must have stolen some women's underwear or been caught driving in a diaper. this is the only way i can even begin to justify why he would be in this film. not that he's been on top of the heap of oscar worthy performances, but this was painful. and the wonderful pirate jackass from the princess bride, whose name i can't remember nor do i care...should be shot on site. the other main character had about as much energy and emotion as my dead grandfather after his last stroke. if the film had been graced by the set crew from seven or even the new texas chainsaw massacre, it could have been slightly redeemed. what you see in the previews, is all that is worth watching. all the gritty and dark scenes in the film are actually shown in the previews. so, grab some popcorn and watch them over and over for two hours all while laughing at all the money you just saved. forgive my run-ons and poor grammar. i'm lazy.
bottom line:
i wasn't even able to be angry when i left the theater. i laughed out loud, along with the rest of the movie-goers and no one was told to shut the fuck up. it was a group participation event. so, if you want to blow 8 bucks per ticket and get a good, truly heartfelt laugh out, go see saw. giggle again.
