2) Thankfully New Year's proved less troublesome than Christmas did, since our Internet stayed put. However both Mike and I found the final weekend less leisurely than we expected, and not because we were able to play online with friends both days. He got a work call yesterday afternoon and started today with a meeting, and he and his director were both discussing how the days the holidays fell on meant almost a week lost of vacation.
We also took down the outside decorations, thankfully under an hour's work now. We had been planning it for a sunny day with less wind, but the sun disappeared this morning and it was still only 34 degrees when we went on the balcony to unplug, untie and unwrap things. It was a day of getting things done and the holiday already seems well behind us.
The last two days we had a mini-marathon of Star Wars Rebels as we tried to make headway on the rewatch. I stopped our renewal as we'll be taking a break from Disney+ until April. We did finish S3 which had perhaps the most eventful season finale. I wish I saw more fanworks for this series.
I had planned to start CBS/Paramount this week but I think I might wait until next month. Despite having access to HBO Max bundled with AT&T since its launch, its absence on Roku made it difficult to just switch over and watch content on it, so we hardly did until a few weeks ago. I want to spend a few weeks going through content there and making use of something we're already paying for.
Meanwhile we're watching various things on Netflix -- Korra, Bridgerton, Dark, and Cobra Kai with various other things on our list. And this week I expect the political comedy shows will be back and possibly some other bookmarked shows may start up this month. So maybe no Trek for us until February.
3) Interesting story of the horse
going for a walk each day in Frankfurt.
4) Looks like over 100 m/m romances are
available for free until January 10.
5) AO3 tweeted out
this activity graph for the site, showing how fans slowed down in posting and reading across the time zones as the new year was rung in.
