Floral sunsets

A number of our plants seem to be perfectly happy with the indoor climes as our temperatures drop outside.

During our friend's recent visit her sister was struck by a few items we had around the apartment. Among them were these foam ghost forms which, for Halloween, we had scattered around in different rooms. Mike was sorry they hadn't seen the Thanksgiving and Christmas versions that he, his sister and niece had made a few years ago.

Another item was this odd little figurine which she thought was a Halloween alien but is actually just something Mike picked up some years back and I dressed up in silver ribbon for the holidays. Hoisting the silver disco ball ornament as he is makes me think of SPN's "Tall Tales" episode.

Yesterday night we had a pretty spectacular sunset, though one of the things that's always striking is how quickly the sky changes over the 15 minutes it takes for the sun to set.

One thing I was amused by was this bright streak of sunlight shooting out like a laser beam across the sky.

Just before the sun disappeared it looked like that part of the sky was on fire.
