Ok...so I don't listen to the radio very often. But I have heard 94.9 playing Matisyahu for the past 3 days. They seem to be all about him. I'm glad to see he's beginning to get some recognition. If you haven't checked out his music, I highly recommend you do so. He's a hasidic Jew (yarmulke, curly sideburns, beard, the whole bit) who plays reggae. And I must say, he does it very well. You can hear hip hop influences (especially in some of his vocal delivery) as well as hints of traditional Jewish melodies. He also beat-boxes on a few tracks. To put it plainly, he's badass. He has a unique sound that I have really been enjoying. He has recorded two tracks with P.O.D. that will be released on their new record. So that's sure to boost his publicity dramatically.

Anyway, I don't know why I decided to rant about Matisyahu but you should listen to him.
