Oh well...it's just my favorite story, you know? So...it's good to see that others know it, especially since we all come from different worlds and the like.

I have never been locked in my hive and needed a valiant, deranged troll to get me out. Nor have I climbed into a tower by the hair of a female. I mean I could have done it to Terezi's tree but it wouldn't be hair I'd be climbing. It'd probably be a noose.
You know young trolls before they pupate. I think your equivalent would be a "baby."

O-Oh. Maybe I'm the only one who thinks it relatable, then. But no matter! It's a good story, regardless. [ She's just...not going to ask about the noose. Because she probably doesn't want to know... ]
Ah, I see. So where you're from, fairy tales aren't enjoyed by people who are older?

Why? Were you locked in a way in a tower?
Not really. Kanaya is really into Rainbow Drinker books but I think that's more along the lines of adolescent fiction. As for adults, fuck if I know. It's not like I've ever met one. I assume once your entered into the ranks of the imperial army, you cast aside anything that is not the grim reality in front of you. ...Maybe I should have said all of that in the past tense but fuck it too lazy to edit now.

How can you not be locked away exactly?
It is, or was, the mightiest army in our universe. All adult trolls were scattered throughout the stars to secure Alternia's hegemony. Adolescents of all levels aspired to serve as valuable tools of conquest.
Well it wasn't like in the story! I mean, there weren't any witches and...ah...I was only up there so I would be safe, and...[ Yeah she's got nothin'. ]
I see. Sounds like it was an...interesting job to have. [ Or something like that. She has no idea. ]
[ Because that is clearly the most important thing??? ]

Something like it.
I can't believe that the offhanded reference to an outdated story is the first thing you noticed.
Wait no.
I can.
[ As much as he'd like to go on an insult tirade, he bites his tongue because CHIVALRY MEANS YOU DON'T CURSE OUT THE LADIES. Sucks to be him. ]

I can respect that.
Sorta.
The modern version on my world is for wrigglers but
it's still a story of romance and its mighty influence.

Ah...wrigglers?

I see! That's kind of sad. Ah...but what's the Imperial Army? It sounds dreadful.

I was going to be a Threshecutioner.
Now it looks like I'm a fucking knight.
Pretty much went on the opposite career path, apparently.

There isn't anything wrong with knights, though! They're one of the more preferable careers out there, if you ask me.
