well, i went to the doctor last monday and things weren't so great. turns out, i had some rapid weight gain (15 pounds in three weeks), high blood pressure, and some major swelling - all of which are signs of preeclampsia (pregnancy induced hypertension) SO they sent me to the hospital for some blood work and to be monitored. turns out, it was just severe water retention from the heat and over exertion on my part.
i have another appointment this coming monday, and i've been monitoring myself for the past two weeks to make sure that everything is alright. the swelling has almost completely gone away and i've lost about eight pounds (which equals a gallon of water that has been excreted out of my body). i still walk at least a mile everyday just to keep my body up to par for labor and delivery and i'm drinking at least a gallon of water per day. (which is weird, considering i never used to drink any water... but water becomes surprisingly good when you drink as much as i do)
its raining here in vegas. and i mean RAINING. its a nice change from the 120 degrees that it has been. greg's ex wife and youngest son came to visit. it was amazing. his ex wife is so nice and extremely funny and though i was a bit nervous at first because of their history, i am happy to have met her. besides that, seeing them together was affirmation that there is nothing left between them (except of course, their son). and their son, brandon, is sooooooo adorable. it was a fun week while they were here... we did a lot (which is where the over exertion on my part came in) and overall just enjoyed each other. it was nice to spend time with them as a 'family' of sorts. gave me good insight into what i have to look forward to.
and speaking of what i have to look forward to, i'm offically nine months pregnant. yay. i swear this has been the longest pregnancy in history.... it feels like i've been knocked up forever. but, i know its all worth it in the end even if now is a tad bit uncomfortable. and in other news, i got my first stretch marks. ugh. underneath my belly button and very faint, but still depressing to say the least. so, i've been rubbing some severe lotion on the area (because lotion moisturizes and massage stimulates collagen production) so that hopefully they don't get out of control. the only good thing is that they are horizontal and not vertical... which means my belly has just grown and not that i have gotten fat. so there is one plus.
anywho, i'll update again after my next appointment. until then, i've posted ultrasound picture on myspace... and i have new pictures up there too. in case y'all were wondering what i looked like huge and pregnant.
tata for now.
