I'm furious with the majority of California voters right now.
Out of 95% of people who voted, 52% voted yes on prop 8. How the fuck can you be pro-discrimination? Prop 8 doesn't protect traditional marriage because THERE IS NO SUCH THING. All it does is keep certain people who are in love from getting married because they happen to have the same junk. And as for "protecting the children," don't you think they're going to start asking questions like "What's a same-sex couple?"
after being inundated with both "Yes on 8" and "No on 8" commercials for the last month?
I can't even formulate words right now I'm so pissed off. So pissed that I can't even be excited about Obama anymore. That was fun while it lasted.
EDIT: I feel a little bit better now. I realized that we can always make an amendment that repeals that one (I honestly have no idea what number the amendment on banning on gay marriage would be.) I already e-mailed the noonprop8.com people to see what we can do. Anyone else in? Ideas or suggestions? All I'm running on right now is moxie and about 3 hours of decent sleep, so any help would be appreciated.
