we didn't kiss (everything that happened had happened)

Suddenly I am gripped by an urge to commit to making LiveJournal awesome again. This happens every so often and I feel like I am being nostalgic for a Golden Age that (like all golden ages?) never actually happened. But I'm here again and that's something, I suppose.

I'm currently reading 'The Last Picture Show' by Larry McMurtry and really enjoying it. It's kind of sad and flat and lots of the characters are lonely and can't seem to connect with each other and, well, I like that in a story.

And I've just started watching S1 of Damages. If I needed more UST in my life (who am I kidding, I always need more UST) then it would certainly be delivering. Glenn Close is as attractive as ever. I also rewatched S4 of New Tricks last week, because I remembered that that was the series where Sandra's daddy issues came to the fore and they showed more of her relationship with her mum. On to S5 now.

Tonight I read all of chainofclovers ' Doubt fics back-to-back. All four of them. If you like angsty nuns, one of whom was played by Meryl Streep, you should do that too.

Over at Tumblr I am committed to making LJ-style (nostalgia again) fandom happen by posting about things that no one else cares about and swimming against the tide by saying things are hot when they're supposed to be screwed up. I was raised on HP fandom! It's just how I roll! To reiterate my previous post, if you also use Tumblr, come and join me.

This has been a middle of the night post. You're welcome :)
