Recs: Narnia

And Indeed There Will Be Time by Signe (gen)
"Time isn't the same here, in the real Narnia." It's beautiful.

NEW  Closets with golden handles by rhoddlet (Susan, gen)
"The hardest part about growing up for the second time for Susan was that it didn't go nearly so well as the first." Obviously, this kind of Susan-fic is like crack to me. I especially like the glimpses we get of the rest of the Pevensies, through Susan's gaze.

Heirlooms by juleshaswords (Susan, gen)
Susan goes back. Evocative and disquieting.

I held your heart in mine for about a week by pixie_paramount (Susan/Peter)
I think it might be perfect.

The Queen in Exile by luminescent (Lucy, gen)
"For Lucy, time stretches to breaking." I'm not sure sad Lucy makes as much sense to me as sad Susan, but this is so beautifully written that it hardly matters.

refuses to call out by violacoye (Susan/Peter)
I'm not sure whether the turning point of this ficlet is entirely realistic, but it can be forgiven, honestly, because this is so wonderful. It takes a slightly different slant on answering the question, how does Susan cope after Narnia? It's bleak and heart-twistingly painful, but... oh look. I'm not selling this at all. But you should read it, you really should.

the smooth taste of the word queen by gabrielle (Susan, gen)
As Susan Pevensie, not Queen Susan, she has to grow up all over again. She grows up all wrong, the second time.

Susan Penvensie, After the Wars by rabid_wulf (Susan, gen; includes Susan/OFC)
"Some days it's all she can think about. Those are the days she locks herself in her study and tries not to think." IDEK why Susan is like the whipping boy of this fandom, but I apparently never stop enjoying it.

Tapestry Unwoven by Lost Dove (Peter)
I don't feel like it adds anything really necessary to canon, but it is kind of beautiful.

That Good Old Feel by gabrielle (Susan - implied Susan/Peter)
Susan after Narnia is always so, so sad. This is no exception.

That Old Feeling by chipped_icons (Susan/Peter)
It was okay in Narnia. But they're not in Narnia anymore.

We Fold Up Our Secrets Like We Fold Up Our Bedsheets by chipping (Susan/Peter)
Fragments that will get stuck inside you for days. "they are in the park, and she is happy for once, smiling, and he is smiling and when she kisses him, she says, 'hold tight, peter, because this is only a moment and time always moves on, moves on, and it will warp us, form us, for sure.' "

What Didn't Last by chipped_icons (Susan/Peter)
More perfection. Look, I can't say anything sensible about it. You should go read.

When I Lost You by chipped_icons (Susan)
Susan is empty, and disconnects. It makes me ache every time.

RPF

do it like a brother (do it like a dude) by likecharity (Anna/Georgie)
Here's a shocker: this fic contains smoking hot real person femslash, and my favourite thing about it was the whole cast interaction. Georgie's characterisation - she's quite confident/aggressive, here - took me a while to get into, but everyone just being adorable and amusing and flirtatious was an instant sell. Meanwhile, the sex is quite - sweet, I think. What struck me most about it was the extent of the communication between Anna and Georgie, something from real life that doesn't always make it through to fic. So bravo for that, and also for every line from Will in the whole thing.

Nothing But Blisters by likecharity (Anna/Will/Georgie)
Okay, so underage fic doesn't squick me and RPF doesn't squick me but apparently if they're put together I'm totally squicked. Likecharity: forcing you to guiltily enjoy stuff you really shouldn't since whenever you discovered her.

this is the challenge (what are you so afraid of?) by moogle62 (Skandar/Tilda)
This fic sets up an incredibly interesting (and, I would imagine, difficult to pull off) power dynamic. The characterisations are excellent, especially Skandar's delicious awkwardness, and the 'porn' is very well written: I like knowing how people in a fic are moving, what's going on body language wise, but sometimes it can become a bit mechanical. SO not the case here. This fic does what more fics should do with d/s and related kinks; play them out in intelligent and sometimes unexpected ways, not as mere button-pushers.

Walk Along Horizons by Lassiter (Anna/Will/Liam)
Roadtrip with age-difference sex, and a hint of manipulation in Liam which makes it even hotter.

you still give me goosebumps by likecharity (Skandar/Tilda)
"Her expression is challenging, and at once, he hates her and adores her, can't tell if he wants to make her come because he loves her or just to prove that he can." Well, here's a pairing I never thought I would go for. This is some filthy, kinky shit, but that mainly comes from psychological rather than physically porntastic elements. An age gap, authority issues, maternal implications... all good stuff. I especially enjoyed the way in which Edward and Jadis' interactions informed the interactions here; part of the appeal of RPF, for me at any rate, is to get all meta like that, so it's always pleasing when it's done well.
