Oh, that. I honestly wouldn't bother - I'm terribly bad at languages, like, took-four-years-of-Spanish-and-can-barely-ask-how-someone's-doing bad - but seeing as I don't actually have to speak this one, because, you know, no one does, it takes off a lot of the pressure. It's kind of just a personal hobby, because of my flaily obsession with Norse mythology and folklore.

May I ask why you decided to learn Swedish? (I think it's awesome, obvs. just wondering.)

I completely understand - though for some people learning "dead" languages is unfathomable, I think it's a great hobby.

I started learning Swedish largely by accident / out of boredom in my last year of high school, but then I went for an International Relations major in a uni that offers a shitload of language majors, Swedish being one of them; so I sort of went with it, which meant I'd minor in Swedish politics, history, economy etc. 6 years later, finishing my master's degree, no regrets. NB, though, I'm Russian.
