1st Encounter - Touch Down

[His writing isn't the atypical sloppy male chickenscratch, but it lacks any real grace. It's hesitant, but there's a subtle strength to every letter.]

I was told this is how people communicate. I suppose this is 'hi.'

This…place, this tree, it feels impossible. I almost feel like, I don't know, like I'm involved in some big practical joke.

Feeling like you are missing something or that you are not whole is quite common, I believe. In my dream, I saw a girl who turned out to be my sister; to this day I miss her so much it pains me and continue to search for her.

Welcome, anyway. I am Will.

I wonder if...

[Ink drips.]

I hope you find your sister, Will. If there's every anything I can do to help, please don't hesitate to ask. I know we don't know each other, at all really, but if I could help someone with a pain like this... Really, just write me on here or come get me in person.

I'll see you around.

I very much appreciate the offer. I'll contact you if there is anything you can help me with.

I would hate to put anybody in any danger, though.

I hope that we can at least meet in an off-journal capacity sometime, though I hope it is not as a patient; I'm a doctor and work at Medical Island.

[Roswell looks back to the journal just in time to see the last of it blotted out. He curses his wandering, still-addled mind.]

I'd like that, too. I didn't know they had that here. Doctors, I mean. I suppose it makes sense.

[Ink drips at the edge of the page for several seconds, intermixed with a pen tap or three.]

Is the Medical Clinic hiring, do you know? I'm no doctor or anything, but something about the idea of that place is...I don't know, appealing. Even if I'm the guy who just fetches things for the real doctors, I think I'd really like to be a part of that.

Yes. I was called a doctor in my dream and healing the sick and injured comes quite naturally to me; I'm pretty sure I am the only actual doctor in the Sphere, however. The other medics have their own unique talents.

I know I for one would like to have you on the medical unit; I'd suggest contacting Justice or Lezard if you are interested in working for us. If it sounds familiar or appealing to you, it may be a clue to your past self.

Unique talents? Like what? And only one doctor, wow. That's gotta be a lot of pressure.

How do I get a hold of them, do you know? And yeah...yeah, you may be right. It, and this twist in my stomach, is about all I have of that self. Better than nothing, right?

Thanks for your help, Will.

I am not sure that I'm the right person to be explaining that, unfortunately; their abilities are beyond my understanding.

Justice handles administrative affairs and Lezard is the head medic, so stopping by Medical Island would be your best bet. It should be on the map you were given upon being "born".

It is no trouble. People here have been so kind and helpful to me, I like returning the favor by helping others whenever possible.

Are they just specialists or something? Or are we talking witch doctors? Haha.

Alright. That makes sense. Thanks for the tip.

That sounds like a good policy to have. I just might have to steal it from you.

Specialists, I suppose! Some of them have supernatural abilities.

Of course. My other policy is "expect the unexpected", which is solid advice in a place like Edensphere.

Supernatural abilities? So Edensphere, if I'm to put everything together right, has giant pink squids, talking animals, people from other worlds and magical powers? That's, uh, just awesome.

[Some of it, truly, he finds bizarre. Some of it, however, continues to disturb him in just how little it disturbs him]

I'm finding that to be incredibly solid advice, as a matter of fact. I should keep a tab of 'Will's Wisdom' somewhere.
