the weekend etc.
well... first thing's first. i went to see harry potter and the prisoner of azkaban with socy on friday. she totally paid for me so i was lovin' the idea. :) i was a wee worried that i might hate this film because of how different it was from the first two. i wasn't ALL TOGETHER WRONG, but any further discussion must be behind an LJ cut as i think sarah hasn't seen it yet.
i guess i should start off with what i liked. because i'm one for looking at the positives.
*they finally got the messiness of harry's hair right! good on them! i thought it was funny that the only time it looked really neat was when he was playing quidditch.
*even though it was added, the whomping willow at the changes of season amused me. actually it reminds me of a certain bit of monty python... cool.
*ron's nightmare about the spiders. and harry telling him "you show those spiders ron." not in the book, but damn i love the humor of it.
*every time ron wondered where hermione came from. i really loved that.
*draco's girly screams. it made me laugh.
now what i didn't like
*they gave lines to hermione that don't belong to her! like in the shrieking shack and she took some of harry's good ideas too. grr.
*why would sirius in animagi form what to growl at harry?
*they cut MOST of the quidditch. jerks. and important things happened at every match. not cool. basically you think harry didn't have a broom for the rest of the year (if you even stop to think about it).
*not having the invisibilty cloak in the final scenes with them visiting hagrid and the rest of that night. i thought that was really important!
*peter should have been thin with lots of extra skin about him because remember... scabbers was losing lots of weight.
*lack of crookshanks.
*the map scene where you see peter pettigrew. that's bull. they only have it that way cause the cut the shrieking shack scene the hell up.
*not as much draco as there should have been. why did they have to cut potions!?
*no pigwidegon (sorry bout the spelling). how else does one explain ron's new pet in the 4th movie (unless they cut him out) and harry's new ability to visit hogsmeade?
i suppose i could really go on if i thought about it.
even if i had more dislikes than likes, my likes were so great that i really enjoyed the movie. crazy huh? i would love to see it again. and even though hermione was quite ooc lots of the time, i still loved her.
right there was other stuff to my weekend too now wasn't there? hehe. saturday me and rose went goofing off and impulsively we bought digital voice recorders ($30 each) and digital cameras (with some extra memory). i paid $180, rose a bit less because she got the open camera. when i got home (eventually) i felt so bad about spending so much money and not yet having a job, coupled with mom's none-to-happiness about me spending that money, i decided to take the camera back to best buy the next day.
sunday there was church (i was in the nursery). i talked to tony and he reminded me about his open house to which i was going to attend. i told him about my camera and he said i should keep it. when i went to lunch with the 'rents mom offered to buy the camera from me. of course they would still need me to show them how to work it and such. this is good. my mom is that awesome sometimes.
must condense this stuff because i'm leaving soon. er. like now. but i got the basics out of the way. *waves* bye now.
