Okay, so for those who may consider TMI a prob, please don't read further.
I don't normally share these sorts of things....but given the circumstances, there is no way to do so without a bit of TMI.
I had cancer like 4 years ago - cervical cancer. I had been avoiding going to the doctor for a pap smear since the hysterectomy they performed to remove my uterus. I know, bad Erica. But I was really, really anxious that it may come back abnormal again and the hysterectomy did not remove all of the cancer.
Part of the anxiety is due to Depression with Acute Anxiety. I have been on Prozac for it since Sept 2k9. So, I finally got over it, and was able to schedule an appt for a pap smear.
I got a nice chastising from my doctor, and rightfully so. Having had cancer, I was at risk and will be ongoing for the rest of my life. So I need to get a pap smear yearly to make sure I stay on top of it.
Got the results back.
Pap smear normal. I am clear, completely.
The sense of relief is overwhelming :)
