All Sentimental and Stuff...

Out and about today to pay bills and get my hair done. I usually spend an hour longer at the salon than I did today and she charged me $10 less....all with the same result. *ponders at the thought* Must have been my lucky day. Stopped on my way home at "My" Speedway to spend $5 of the $10 I saved on powerball tickets. Saturday night I had the ( Read more... )

Now that I think about it, I have seen one at Foodland. It has pull tabs I know for sure but I don't know what else, if anything. I have a client who RUNS to that machine every time the staff takes him there grocery shopping. Because of the impulse control issues associated with his brain injury, we try not to take him too many places where he can gamble...he comes from a family of gamblers which makes it worse. He is doing better and now allots himself xxx amount each month to gamble with...be it bingo or lottery tickets.

Wooohooo on the $500 scratch off win! That's better than our 4th of July $400 one!!!

Thank goodness for the short commute :) I can see where carpooling has its pros and cons. 3+ years of carpooling adds up to quite a bit of savings...good for you!

I applied for a position with the state back in early May which might require a two hour commute one way if I were to get it. It is just now posted outside the state agency so that tells you how slow state government is here. I was asked to apply from inside the branch so I'm hopeful. If I were to get the position, I would be the only staffer in the branch with direct brain injury experience. The hours are 8-4 so I would be home by 6ish, no evenings or weekends, and no on-call 24/5. Better pay, benefits and retirement too :) I might have moved before but have too much here now that would make it worth the commute everyday! :) :)

The job sounds good (and good luck!), but that's a rough amount of commuting...4 hours a day...ouch!

Let's keep those lotto wins coming :-)

None of us would have to work if only one of us would win the biggie! I'm all about sharing the wealth with my loved ones!

I know, I know...it is a huge commute. I must consider it a stepping stone to greater things though and maybe a lateral move back to this area somewhere down the line.

One good thing is that there is a lot of travel involved with the branch visiting providers all across the state. The other specialist is burnt out with the travel and has already told me that if I get the position, I can have all the travel related work I want. This would allow me to leave from my home rather than from Frankfort. Travel time is included in your 8 hour day also. When they come to visit Radical Rehab, they get here at 10 or so and leave at 2:30 or so. Now that's VERY enticing! :)

Be sure to let everyone know when you need the good vibes sent your way...for interviews or whatever! :-)

Or a nice lotto win wouldn't be bad either ;-)

ty...I will. It would probably work out better for me if they continued to drag their feet in filling the position...health wise. I'll keep ya'll posted :-)
