Where time moves slower and the winters are colder
It's happening again, so much to do, so little time...
Thursday, RockSoc meet in the Speak Easy. Got there too late for food, bummed around a little and watched xerowalsh wreck the place ;) Ate at Nandos then retired to the Pink Fox for a while before returning home.
Friday, failed to relax, spent the day sorting my music out until Tom arrived. Assault went well (thanks to those of you who've asked). The Society now has over 300 members, and we got 188 (I think) through the doors. General comments so far have been positive, with people favouring the new format of the night, and in the main room we kept a full dancefloor from about half ten, with only one or two tracks bombing. There's the usual comments of 'not enough metal', but then I'm beginning to feel that we could play nothing but metal all night and there still wouldn't be enough. Retired once again to the Pink Fox to chill out a while and walked home around four in the morning.
Saturday, slept in a rather predictable fashion until the afternoon when I walked to the Tap for shallowthing's birthday Tap Burgers. I'm reminded why I don't bother with the Tap; food took over an hour to arrive, and the order was wrong when I got it. Dumb fucks. Got home and got in some quality time on Halo before going to Nightmare. This was fun, but from a sociable rather than clubbing perspective. Chatted to the-alleycat about AG, varioussorrows and adam_supernal about weekend plans, and briefly got to meet publius_ovidius.
Onto Sunday, and the AG shoot, this week featureing manniqueen_ and strange_gaze. We're getting better at composition now, and the results look pretty good so far. It's heartening to see improvement each time, considering the learning curve we're on. Post-shoot, vampiric_monkey came over, I indulged in Chinese, and we hit the Speak Easy quiz for the first time in months which I wasn't really awake for, but it's always fun to heckle soldatengrab.
And yesterday being Monday was the usual gym plus Asda, then Overdrive (for the first time in ages, again because of night shifts). Apparently it was quieter than normal, but me and wordsfromrob spazzed out to some Miocene, which was nice. Oh, and the new barmaid in there is a very pretty lady. Oh yes.
Right, we're up to date, so on with the work. Expect the odd brain fart later.
