Reading Festival Update II: The Rest

I've been extraordinarily lax in updating my journal this week, especially seeing as there's so much I want to record. I've already covered the bands I saw, so this entry is about the rest of the weekend.

Sounds like all the dickheads skipped Reading to go to Download this year.

I think there's a lot of factors. The hardcoreness of it selling out in an hour, whilst it's shit for a lot of people, probably also weeded out some of the trouble. There definitely was a more mature feel to the campsite, I think everyone was on best behaviour after last year's shit.

Anecdotally I think a lot of the trouble came from pikeys who weren't actually at the festival, I don't know if they've clamped down on the campsite entrance (it's very lax compared to the arena).

They did, to the point of arseyness. Still, better than having asshats running around and spoiling everything.

The material armbands are definitely better, I'm still wearing my band from M'era Luna and it's not manky at all. Those plastic ones get sweaty too.

No shower queues? How early did you get up?

About 9am usually, when it was too hot to stay in the tent. Up, shower, whiskey, breakfast. In that order.
