We enter the circle at night...

So yes, an update is in order. Before my brain gives up the ghost.

Travelled down to Norwich on Thursday and spent a very pleasant evening between the UEA bar and the Playhouse with jubbles81 and Mr Ridley. I think I saw Claire Grace wander by at one point, which was kinda freaky. Guiness and Wild Turkey chasers managed to keep me going sans food as well.

After a night of precious little sleep, I found myself in town meeting the mothership. Now for those of you who missed the info first time round, my sister's getting married in August, and obviously mum's busying herself with the arrangements. At some point in these plans I was charged with getting a new suit and 'looking respectable'. Seeing as I was in Norwich, it was decided this would be a perfect time to get aforementioned suit. Fortunately our shopping expedition was mercifully brief, I have new clothes, and matriachal concerns that I will attend the wedding in my customary combats and tshirt have been averted. Post-shopping we drove out to Ludham and lunched with The Father, then went back to Catfield and spent a few hours in the afternoon with The Neighbours ("you work with computers? could you just have a look at...").

At this point the weekend began to take an interesting turn. Being out in the country meant no phone signal, and the messages I received while driving back to the train station changed my original plans to return to Nottingham, and replaced them with the 7pm London train. Arriving in London, repaired to kimera_kydra's house, where there was copious amounts of sausage, even greater amounts of whiskey, a brace of decent companions, and the surprise discovery of a black metal band I didn't automatically laugh at (Ulver, if anyone cares). Passed out at some unearthly hour. Literally.

The following morning (and it actually was morning, to my disgust) I hauled my weary carcass to the most welcome shower I've ever had, changed, and headed to Oxford Circus to meet The Mother, The Friend Of The Family (Mandy), The Sister (Miriam) and The Brother In Law To Be (Simon). Had lunch in a park somewhere and the wedding was discussed, while I strived to stay awake. The ladies left to peruse John Lewis for wedding list items, and Simon called 'pub'. We settled into a large place on Tottenham Court Road, surprisingly empty considering the England match, and had a talk about various things. One event looming on the horizon is the stag night, which will be interesting. The best man (Simon's brother Ali) has asked me for suggestions. So, what should I do with a bunch of Christians? :D

The trip back to London was uneventful, other than that I finished Dan Brown's 'Angels & Demons'. Back in Nottingham, and I snatched maybe half an hour's downtime before heading out to Nightmare, but that tale will have to wait for a later update...
