I watched Gus Van Sant's "Last Days". Wow what a stinkburger. Oh and please spare me the "it's a indie minimalist, and realist art form" bullshit. Van Sant sure knew how to establish the hell out of a tree on one scene as he chose to keep the camera on it for 3 minutes. Oh and why would we even want to see our young hero Blake do any drugs? Of course we would'nt we would rather just guess that he was on drugs. I think Van Sant is intentionaly making movies that people will hate. If he is then more power to him. But I have yet to hear anyone say that. Oh and of course the argument that hey these guys really did burn out and fade away then go out with a bang is a bit useless. As if he really wanted a biopic he could have simply found out the facts asked permission from the family and made a real and factual biopic. Yet he did'nt he decided and disrespectfully to just rename the characters and put a tag at the end saying it was not based on Kurt Cobain. Give me a friggin break. Oh and just like Elephant expect a completly useless and random scene where two boys make out. It's fine to do that but in a movie where that is the best action just seems to add that Van Sant has some perversion with homosexuality. In the end I was very much looking forward to Blake offing himself so that the credits would finaly start rolling and I could try to get the hours I lost from this movie back.
