Is this thing on? I held the button down. Red means power, right? Or does red mean off...

So hey...everyone. My name's Clark. Is anyone listening? Because I don't think I'm in...Kansas anymore.

You're never supposed to press the red button.

Sorry. It's on. You're not in Kansas for sure. This is the City.

So I've heard.

What's someone like you doing here? You seem normal, like Kansas-guy before you. Walking around, there's a lot of stuff here that's not very normal.

A lot of people here are normal. We kind of all just get sucked in and have to deal with it. As far as the stuff here that's not normal, well... after a while that gets normal.

Are you really from Kansas?

That's never going to get normal for me. Because I need to get home before my dad has a heart attack or something.

Yes, I'm really from Kansas. I go to high school in Smallville. I play football for the Crows. I don't deserve this stuff, do I?

If it makes you feel better, I think time is meant to stop back home while you're here. So you could be back before your dad even finishes realizing you're not there.

Well I'm from Texas. I was a cheerleader for the Wildcats. By your logic, I don't either. You just have to make the best of it for now.

That does make me feel better. You have no idea. My dad would flip if I went missing even two hours and he didn't know where I was. Seriously.

I guess so. I'm really sorry, this must have been really stressful for you.

Ohhhhh, believe me, I know how you feel. You should listen to my voice mail sometimes.

It's been okay. Maybe at first. I'm sorry for freaking you out like that. I didn't mean to scare you or anything, if I did.

Your parents are completely overprotective too?

It's okay. I'm surprisingly easy to freak out. Guess I'm not very macho.

My dad would probably put a tracking device in me if he could. My mom, too, but she would probably 'conveniently' forget to turn it on sometimes. It's kind of a pain, isn't it? But nice at the same time.

Sometimes.

There's a scale for judging that kind of thing. Can you make it through The Ring?

My mom always tells me my dad does it because he cares about me more than anything else in the world, but that doesn't help much when he chases my friends off the property with a gun.

I hate that movie like nobody's business. I'd rather just watch Erin Brokovich.

...Really?

Tell me it's not because of Julia Roberts' boobs.
