Cordelia and i had escaped the boardroom of the blonde. I don't know where Harmony gets the idea that she is all up with power girl but let her at it. Not like the others will follow her. Please, she's a soulless fluff. Think Paris Hilton without the money and you have Harmony rolled up in a blanket. Oh add fangs

"So, are there a lot of rooms like this in here, Mr. Angel?"
Connor's voice brought me out of my internal thinking as i nodded at him. The way he said it sounded to me like this was not a good thing.
"Only way to get in though is to have security clearance. And trust me, nothing really in there to see. Just boring DNA of employees and things like that."
I shrugged, knowing if I had been in Connor's shoe I would be rushing into that room................
Hell's Bell's!
Idiot when you think you've done the dumbest thing in your life you go and do the mother load of stupidity.

"Yeah. And apparently, getting the security clearance to go in there is hell. With the measures they take around here, we have security to rival even the White House." I raised my brows at him. Don't even think about going into that room, buddy.
Great. But when you tell a kid not to do something, what do they do? The opposite. I didn't need my high school Psych class to tell me that one. I could see it in Connor's eyes.
"Anyway. Moving far away from that topic and into the topic of what you're going to be doing here. Angel?" I asked, glancing back to him.
Giving him that, you screw this one up and I'm not covering for you look, I think he got my message.

Yeah, sure, that room was intriguing to me and I bet that I could find my way in there, but even more so, there was something that I had to ask.
"I haven't decided what field of medicine that I'm going to get into yet. Have you guy's seen Tru Calling? I so want to examine dead bodies, find out why they die. It's a fascination of mine."
Okay, did I just go off and totally sound like the biggest weirdo in the world?

"Anyway. Moving far away from that topic and into the topic of what you're going to be doing here. Angel?"
Okay this was different. My kid likes dead people. And of all the places in the world.....I am sure we could handle that one.
"Well I was going to say you could start with just helping in the clinic, whatever the doctors wanted you to do but with your interest I have another idea. We need someone to work with the county morgue and go over their findings. Would that be an interest for you?"
Reply
"I think the county morgue would be more beneficial to what you're interested in." Here I go with the big words and the bullshit again. Pretending you don't know somebody when really, they were like a child then a .. lover to you was really hard work.
I glanced over at Angel and smiled. We'd be able to keep track of Connor because he'd have to come back to the office occassionally.
God, Fred, Wes, Gunn, they must all think Angel and I have gone off the deep end. We have barely spent any time with them lately. But I guess if they were in this situation, they'd do the same thing. Right??

I smiled though. The county morgue idea sounded really cool, although this place was really cool too.
"That sounds like an interesting time. The county morgue..." I nodded my head up and down and the smiled at them.
"Why does a lawfirm need to correspond with the county morgue and what would I be doing there, specifically?"

And most of the time they are as guilty as the cobras they are.
"You'd just be able to give us the inside story from the get go."
So we can hang them out to dry.
And this would solve alot of problems. Well two. One being the room. Have to have security aware of a possible problem. Ewo, less contact between my son and the woman who diapered his butt. And then.......not going to think about that. No, no painful thoughts allowed at this time. Not going to think on how my world began to crash on down on me last year.

I said, smiling at him. Of course, Angel's quickie explanation to Connor of what he would do had a much deeper meaning, but it's not like we were going to divulge into that with Connor. No, he didn't need to know what was really going on.
Like in that room.
"I think that sounds like a better job then hanging out here and filing or whatever all day."
Okay. Not really, but then again, he didn't know the rest of us all that well.

"So, I get to be lik spy, find out stuff about victims at the morgue and bring the information to directly to your attention, Mr. Angel? Or would it be somebody else?"
I tried not to look at Cordelia, because it seemed to be making everybody else tense.
In fact I was getting cold. "Is it cold in here, or is it just me?"
I wasn't trying to ask about temperature, but I had a pretty good feel about when people were uncomfortable and these two, were in the dictionary, smiling next to the word and it's meaning.
I wondered if they got that.
Reply
"Yeah. You'd have experience with what you want to do first hand, and you'd still be helping us here at the lawfirm."
Looking at Connor over Cordy's head I nodded. "Yes you would be reporting to me. It wouldn't be something everyday but I think you would enjoy it."
I had the connections to have everything arranged with a phone call. At times this job does make a difference to the better in this life.

"So it's settled. You'll be interning at the morgue and here and you'll find out if that's the kind of job you want."
Oh and the fact that Angel, paranoid father he was, would be able to keep an eye on his son. Glancing back at Angel, I raised my brows.
"Do you think we should go check on Harm's meeting? Make sure she's not selling the place by accident or something?" I rolled my eyes at him.
Glancing back at Connor, I paused for a second, thinking over his last 'cold' comment. Duh. I obviously got that double meaning.
"Cold? No. Sorry if we seem a little too happy about this. This is more or less my first official day or two on the job. I was .. out of the country for a while."
Or out of this plane. More like it, in a mystical coma. I smiled at him.
